Ballymackey U16 Girls were made to work very hard for a 5-2 away win against a determined Birdhill side that played the full match with 10 players. Chelsea White opened the scoring with a great finish after been put clear behind the Birdhill defence by a Ellie Troy through ball. Chelsea also got our second with a super long range strike. Our 3rd goal was scored by our Spanish debutant Maria Parejo, who cut in off the right beating several defenders before finishing from a tight angle. In the second half Birdhill got themselves back in it when a dangerous Aideen McGlinchy cross was turned into our net by a Ballymackey defender. A great response by Ballymackey saw the game been made safe with goals from Samantha Hogan and Ellie Troy before Birdhill closed out the scoring with their 2nd.

The girls played some lovely football with some fantastic interplay and their high level of workrate was the notable feature of this performance. We had stand out displays from Chelsea White, Devlyn Spillane and Phoebe Sage but player of the match goes to Maria Parejo playing her first ever competitive game of Football. The girls already named were supported by fine performances from Anna Grace, Maria Moroney, Kelsey Hogan, Andrea Brennan, Chloe McAuliffe and Katie Ryan.
