Ballymackey under12 girls started 2022 with a hard earned win over their hosts cloughjordan today, the game started even enough with very few chances for both sides. Ballymackey opened the scoring half way through the first half when a driving run from Olivia fitzpatrick into the box lead to her toe poking home. Cloughjordan came back at ballymackey but were thwarted by some resolute defending from Isabel ryan and anna fitzgerald, ballymackey doubled their lead when olivia looby went past a couple of defenders and the golakeeper to score. Just before half time it was 3-0 when charlotte deegan finished a powerful shot to the net. Into the second half and Ballymackey kept on the front foot through lily kate kenneally and grainne troy which lead to olivia fitzpatrick unleashing a powerful shot to the top corner which must be a contender for goal of the season. soon after it was 5 when a cross into the box was expertly finished by Aoibhe hassett. Cloughjordan kept pushing forward but Amy hackett in defense prevented them getting through on goal, final score 5-0 to ballymackey.
