Ballymackey under 12 girls continued their winning ways today in a tough game with kilavilla, played in windy and rainy conditions credit to both teams for playing some entertaining football. At the midpoint in the first half the score was 2-1 to ballymackey who were playing with the aid of the wind in the first half and at that point it looked like it was going to be a very close game but credit to the ballymackey girls they found another gear to pull away from their opponents. Ballymackey started on the front foot and took the lead after 2 minutes when charlotte deegan sent a low drive to the net. Grianne troy then came close to doubling the lead but was denied by the kilavilla defense, ballymackey continued to press and olivia looby was just wide from a great cross by charlotte deegan. After 13 mins it was 2-0 when a corner from lily kate kenneally found charlotte deegan in the 6 yard box and she finished to the net. soon after it was 2-1 when kilavilla broke through the ballymackey defense to pull a goal back. with just 8 minutes left in the half ballymackey were awarded a penalty after olivia looby was dragged back in the box and the penalty was expertly dispatched by olivia fitzpatrick. Ballymackey made it 4 just before half time when a very good zig zag run by olivia looby took her through on goal and she finished to the corner of the net.
